Virtual Oral Presenter Guidelines

Blitz Talk Guidelines

Blitz talks will occur via a live Zoom webinar session within the virtual platform software.  Presenters will deliver their talk via a live screen share with opportunities for questions from the delegates.  Following the blitz talks, there will be 30 minutes of dedicated time for discussion in breakout rooms.  Each breakout room will have 2 – 3 blitz presenters per session and are expected to have lively discussion with delegates who have follow up questions.

Please review the guidelines below specific for the blitz talks:

  • Your presentation is to be delivered live within a Zoom webinar.  You are welcome to use PowerPoint, Keynote, Google Slides – whichever program works best for you
  • There is no maximum number of slides but the time limit is enforced
  • The webinar will be live streamed into the virtual conference software NCM is using and other delegates will be able to ask questions via the Q&A box which will be moderated
  • A NCM board member will introduce you at the beginning of your time and you will begin your presentation by sharing your screen
  • Your total talk is 5 minutes in length.  You must not go over this time and a timekeeper will interrupt your presentation if you go over
  • Assuming you do not go over your presentation time, there will be time for one question following the talk.  This question will be chosen and read out to you from the NCM timekeeper
  • Unless you are presenting, kindly mute your microphone to minimize distractions for other presenters
  • Following the blitz session, there will be breakout sessions for further discussion.  These sessions will be open for any delegate to participate in to ask questions and have follow up discussion.
  • You will be sent a Zoom link for your live presentation. You MUST use this link in order to access your session.
